Adrian O’Connor (Assoc. Professor, History) recently had his article, “‘Through the Bonds of Sentiment’: Fraternite and Politics in Revolutionary France,” published in the edited volume Trust and Happiness in the History of European Political Thought (Leiden: Brill Publishers: Lazslo Kontler and Mark Somos, editors).

On Thursday, October 13, Hugh LaFollette, Cole Chair in Ethics, presented on “Ethics and Guns” with LaFollette and IEEall Priests of the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida.  LaFollette was invited by the Archbishop to talk with the priests, and then, in mid-November, to address the same topic with both priests and laity attending the Diocese’s Annual Convention.


Dr. Adrian O’Connor presented at the French Historical Studies conference in Nashville, TN.

Hugh LaFollette, the Marie and Leslie E. Cole Chair in Ethics, was the guest on the March 27 edition of Philosophy Talk, a syndicated hour-long radio show hosted by Stanford University.LaFollette and IEE

His topic was “Gun Control,” an issue on which he is current writing a book.
