Experiencing traumatic events, regardless of origin or form, can bring about a lot of stress. Traumatic stress is unique to individual life circumstances and can manifest in many ways that impact the resources we need to function optimally. Feelings of sadness, loss, confusion, anger, and anxiety are all normal during such challenging times. However, most of these reactions are temporary and will dissipate over time. Therefore, it is important for us to be kind to ourselves and take small steps toward recovery. Reaching out for support can be helpful.

The Wellness Center is also available for walk-in urgent appointments (Mon-Fri) and after-hours phone consultations ( 727-873-4422). Faculty and staff may access support through the Employee Assistance Program (800-327-8705).
