Board Sports Instruction

With access to the harbor literally steps away from our location and the beaches fifteen minutes away, the Waterfront is the ideal place to learn and enjoy in a variety of Board Sports. From learning to Surf, Windsurf, Kitesurf, and Stand Up Paddleboard through our instructional classes, our Board Sports Program is perfect for all levels.

NEW for Spring 2012 is our Adventure Trip Program, including StandUp Paddleboarding Day Trips, Kayak & Canoe Adventure Trips to Weedon Island, Crystal River and an Overnight Kayak/Canoe & Camping Overnight Adventure, a SCUBA Day Trip & a Snorkel Day Trip to Egmont Key. We hope to see you on the water soon.

Private Lessons are offered in Stand up Paddleboarding, Surfing, Windsurfing, and Kitesurfing. Lessons are available based on schedule availability. We provide all necessary equipment and knowledgeable instructors. We will teach you what you need to know in order to safely operate our equipment. At your request, private lessons can be shared with friends. Please complete our Waterfront Private Lessons & Skipper Certification Checkouts Form if interested in scheduling an appointment with a trained instructor.

Stand Up Paddleboarding

Join us for a hour or two to learn the growing sport of paddleboarding and then be able to rent out the boards at the Waterfront.

Surfing

This is an introductory lesson into the sport of surfing. Students will get on-land and in-water practice with skills necessary for shredding some waves! Upon successful completion of the class, you will be able to use our equipment in accordance with Waterfront policy. Lessons run 1-1.5 hours  

Windsurfing

This course will teach you how to properly read the wind, rig our equipment, and surf the wind! On-land simulations and in-water hands on practice will get you up and riding. Upon successful completion of the class, you will be able to use our extensive line of equipment in accordance with Waterfront policy. Lessons run 2-3 hours    

Kitesurfing

So you want to move to the top of the food chain of extreme water sports, here is your chance. This class consists of 5% board work and 95% hands on kite flying. Students will learn to manipulate the wind with their kite, rig all equipment, and be ready to start getting up and riding! Lessons run 3 hours for two days    

Upon conclusion of the Learn to Kitesurf Class, you will be ready for individualized progressive instruction in order to get up and riding on the water.
