College is not just a new journey for students, but for parents and families as well. USF St. Petersburg’s Parent & Family Orientation program is here to answer the myriad of questions surrounding a student’s first time in college.
This Orientation program is an optional program for family members of freshman students. It has been highly rated in the past and gives parents helpful information to support your student, especially during the critical first year. The program gives family members an introduction to campus resources, opportunities to ask questions, meet others and see our beautiful campus.
For space reasons we cannot accept more than two guests per student. One to two parent(s), guardian(s) or spouse(s) may attend. Parent & Family Orientation is limited to these relationships to students. The Orientation program and atmosphere is not appropriate for siblings or other guests.
Parent & Family Orientation is held concurrently during the same dates and times as the Freshman Orientation. However, this program only occurs on the first day of the student program. The Parent & Family program will end after dinner on the first day. USF St. Petersburg does not provide overnight accommodations for parents, but please look into local hotel accommodations.
Parents and family of transfer students are invited to attend their student’s Transfer Orientation but do not have a separate program.
The success of your student is our top priority. By sharing this information with parents, you can help ensure the success of your student.
