Academic Success Center Accredited by CRLA, Will Be Used as National Model

The Academic Success Center at USF St. Petersburg has received recognition through accreditation by the College Reading and learning Association (CRLA) for its outstanding tutoring program. USFSP is one of only 3 institutions in the Florida State University System and the only institution in the USF System to achieve it. In addition, the tutor-training program developed by the Academic Success Center has been chosen to be a national model endorsed by the CRLA, and will be featured on the organization’s website.

Dr. Ruby Qin, the Managing Director at the Academic Success Center, said that “It is a real honor for us to be accredited and nominated as a national model by the College Reading and Learning Association, which is a nationally and internationally recognized authority for setting the standards for skills and training for tutoring programs. We will continue to hold high standards in our operations and services, and continue to build one of the best academic support centers in the country.”

Regional Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Norine E. Noonan, noted that “Our Academic Success Center is a key element in a university-wide academic support and retention effort. This accreditation speaks volumes about both the quality of the service and the skill and dedication of the people who assist our students every day.”
