Note that May 7 is the date we expect most students to leave the United States. The program starts in Bangkok on May 8.

Program Highlights

Sustainability in Southeast Asia will focus on issues of corporate social responsibility and sustainability in developing countries in Southeast Asia. Participating students will get a chance to learn about a different culture while participating in recreational and academic activities. We will spend two weeks in May in the cities of Siem Reap, Pursat, and Phnom Penh in Cambodia, as well as Bangkok in Thailand. During our stay we will visit cultural sites such as Angkor Wat, the Concentration Camp and the Killing Fields, Kiriron National Park, the Grand Palace, the famous Floating Market, and the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. Organizations in South East Asia that we will visit include: Sustainable Cambodia, Protect the Earth, Protect Yourself (PEPY), Resources Development International Cambodia (RDIC), Human Development Foundation, Goodwill Group, and Chulalongkorn University. Student participants will also volunteer for a day for one of the “projects” of the RDIC in Cambodia.
