WELCOME TO THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA ST. PETERSBURG OFFICE OF MULTICULTURAL AFFAIRS!

We seek to create and promote a diverse and inclusive campus environment. The office provides diversity programming, activities and workshops with a goal to function as a resource for students, faculty, staff and the community.

OUR MISSION

Cultivate an (AWARENESS) and firm appreciation of all people through exposure of differences and similarities of culture, ideas and backgrounds; regardless of age, ethnicity, race, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, ability, or physical qualities.
Facilitate student engagement and development through educational programming, trainings, and workshops.

USFSP Students at MLK Day ParadeThe office of Multicultural Affairs in collaboration with various departments works to host a float in the second largest MLK Parade of the nation, held right in our own backyard! Together with the community, we honor the legacy of a great civil rights activist who continues to serve as an icon for people of all backgrounds who inspires all to believe in the day that we can finally achieve equal rights for all human beings.

The office of Multicultural Affairs hosts it’s end of the year banquet which not only brings together some great food, fun music, and awesome people, but also helps celebrate the accomplishments of our various student organizations. Each and every organization who put in time and effort into their initiatives are awarded as a whole and at the individual level as well. Senior members are also honored with graduation stoles to be used as they continue their path in higher education.

ST. PETE PRIDE PARADE

ST. PETE PRIDE PARADE

The office of Multicultural Affairs in collaboration with various departments works to host a float in Tampa’s largest LGBT Pride Celebration, held right in our own backyard! Imagine 5,000 people swishing and sauntering along Downtown St Pete’s Bayshore Dr in a dazzling array of sequins, beads, leathers and feathers to celebrate the power and beauty of diversity, with more than 200,000 people cheering them on. Here we show the state all the beautiful colors of our diverse community, and have a fabulous opportunity for unbridled self-expression and love.
