THESIS SUBMISSION Note: USF St. Petersburg graduate students are no longer required to submit their approved theses through the USF Tampa Graduate School. The final approval of the format after your committee has approved the intellectual content takes place in the USF St. Petersburg Office of Graduate Studies. USF St. Petersburg students DO NOT submit through the Electronic Thesis and Dissertation (ETD) process, but rather the final manuscript is to be submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies in PDF format via email, flash drive, or CD. For all questions or to make an appointment, please call or email Eric Douthirt at douthirt@mail.usf.edu or (727) 873-4567. Deadlines (needed forms and web pages are embedded in the text)
***USF St. Petersburg does not have a summer commencement ceremony. Those who anticipate a summer graduation may elect to walk in the Fall ceremony or participate in the USF Tampa summer commencement. If you elect to walk in USF St. Petersburg's Fall ceremony, be sure to complete a Fall ceremony registration form with a note that you are a summer graduate and submit it as outlined on the USFSP Commencement web page. If you elect to participate in USF Tampa's summer ceremony, please register using the USF Tampa commencement webpage and instructions found here: http://usfweb2.usf.edu/commencement. Format Requirements and Resources The submission for the format check is no longer required. However, students are still responsible for meeting all the format requirements as outlined below. Graduate Studies does not specify a specific structure or organization for the main body of the manuscript (such as the content, number of chapters, chapter organization, etc.). However, individual graduate programs may require a specific style (i.e. APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.), set forth by their program throughout the manuscript. The table below outlines the sections of the manuscript and also the page numbering requirements.
The following links provide information on formatting requirements. These helpful guidelines were developed by the USF Tampa Graduate School who has graciously agreed to allow us to use them. Each link contains a PDF document that outlines the required formatting, includes examples of each section, provides explanations of how to use and set up the formatting functions in Microsoft Word, and a checklist that can be used to evaluate each section of the manuscript. To download a particular section of the requirements click on the appropriate title below. Converting the Manuscript to PDF Did you cover everything? Final checklist.
