France Summer Study Abroad

Learn French in France and earn 6 USFSP course credits! The France summer study abroad program is open to all, beginners or more advanced students. Students can take French I through French IV or upper level courses, such as French composition, conversation or French civilization or literature. FRE 3470 Overseas Study (3) is also one of the required courses for the major in World Languages and Cultures and an elective for the minor in French.

Our faculty-led summer study abroad programs have taken students to Paris, Tours, and Nice. Students are hosted by native families, take a language course and a cultural course (FRE 3470) at a French institute with other international students, and participate in school activities, guided tours and excursions.

Studying abroad is the best way to experience the language and the culture first hand!

Students describe studying abroad as one of the best times in their lives.
Because it is!

I loved this trip. Nice was absolutely beautiful and I loved it! The things I liked the most were the food and  the culture in Nice. I could live like that everyday.

I got the opportunity to learn about a culture that I did not know was so ancient, deep and rich in history, food, art.

The course/trip to France really was the best thing I have ever done.  It has confirmed my thoughts of wanting to pursue a minor.

I made lifelong friends, ate amazing food, and gained an experience of a lifetime.

This study abroad program is an adventure I will remember forever. I have made lifelong friends and discovered a part of myself that was dying to be awakened.
