Substance Abuse Prevention and Education

Operation PAR, a substance abuse treatment agency in Pinellas County, provides substance abuse assessment and education services to USFSP students at no charge. Referrals to PAR are initiated either from the Center for Counseling, Health & Wellness or Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities.

Although PAR’s services to USFSP students focus on prevention, education, and brief intervention, appropriate referrals will be made if more comprehensive services are warranted.

Services are administered upon referral only. Appointments are available at the Center for Counseling, Health & Wellness on Thursdays 1-5pm or on Mondays at the Operation PAR office.

Alcohol Innerview is a program that takes students through a comprehensive assessment of their drinking-related behaviors

How Can it Help?


Alcohol Innerview provides immediate personalized feedback which:
Uncovers personal and background risk factors
Compares drinking patterns to other college students.
Looks at drinking in terms of negative consequences experienced, money spent, and calories consumed
Encourages use of personalized protective strategies and deep understanding of BAC (blood alcohol concentration)
Explores how risk could be decreased if specific changes were made
