  • NICHD to Identify Scientific Opportunities for Next Decade

NIH recently released a notice that the National Institute of Child Health and human Development (NICHD) is planning to work in collaboration with its external communities to identify the most promising scientific opportunities of the next decade across the breadth of the Institute's mission. ' the aim of this process is to develop a scientific vision that sets an ambitious agenda and inspires the Institute, its many partners, and the research community to achieve critical scientific goals and meet pressing public health needs." The Vision process with a timeline is given. Workshops and meetings will be held from FALL 2010 through SPRING 2011 as part of the process.

This process is sure to inform NICHD's future funding priorities, and investigators who are interested in NICHD funding should keep close tabs on this process.
