WEEKLY ACTIVITY REPORT 07-24-06
2. 06-0261P SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE/ POSSIBLE SEX OFFENSE 07/22/06 On Saturday 07/22/06, just after 1130PM, a female not affiliated with the university was found asleep and partially clothed on the edge of USF campus at the corner of Fifth Avenue South and Fourth Street South. She was a resident of a local transient shelter, and had apparently been sleeping on a city bench. She felt someone else may have removed the clothing, and was concerned that she may have been the victim of a sex offense. USF St. Petersburg Police Services and colleagues from St. Petersburg Police have completed a preliminary investigation of the incident, but it remains unclear at this time whether any crime actually occurred. The results of forensic examinations will apparently not be available for a period of months. Due to these factors, this case will be placed on inactive status pending further developments and results of forensic examinations. Any further follow up investigation will be led by the St. Petersburg Police Department.
