Congratulations on your acceptance to USF St. Petersburg! Tranferring from one college to another is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. We want to ensure that you have everything you need to be successful as a student at USF St. Petersburg. Please review the list below and take the following steps before attending the mandatory orientation session.
Activate Your NetID Account
- You will need to active your USF NetID in order to check you admission status, pay your admissions deposit and register for orientation.
Admissions
- Use Admissions Online Status Check frequently to verify your residency status, major, health immunization and more.
- Complete the required steps to declare Florida Residency, if applicable.
- Submit your final transcripts or additional test scores as needed.
- Update your major, email, other records and contact information as needed.
Immunization/Health History Information Compliance
- As an incoming student you are required to complete the USF Immunization Health History Form and return it USF St. Petersburg’s Records & Registration office before you will have access to course registration. You will not be able to register for courses at orientation until this is done.
- Bring a back-up copy of this paperwork with you to orientation.
Orientation
- Select, register, and pay for your orientation session as soon as possible. Orientation registration is On-line, done by a first come, first served basis.
Housing
- Apply for on-campus housing as early as possible after you have been accepted to the University. Visit the housing Web site for more information.
Financial Aid
- Apply for financial aid as early as possible each year. You can apply as early as January 1 using estimated income and tax return information.
- If eligible, apply for Bright Futures (while in high school) and notify Bright Futures which university you are attending.
What to Bring to Orientation
- Your Orientation Parking Permit which will be included in your confirmation packet which will be emailed to you when you complete your registration.
- A credit or debit card so that you can purchase a University ID card
- Your University ID Number
- A jacket or sweater (temperatures vary in buildings)
- An umbrella, just in case
- Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, you will be walking a lot!
