Association of Health Care Journalists Awarding Academic Health Journalism Conference Fellowships

The Association of Health Care Journalists, with support from funders, provides financial assistance to college journalism students and college journalism instructors who wish to attend AHCJ’s annual conference From April 20, 2017 – April 23, 2017 in Orlando, Florida.

Fellowships are open to U.S.-based students majoring in journalism or mass communication with a special interest in covering health or health care. Professors and other college instructors who are teaching health-related journalism are also welcome to apply.

If selected for a fellowship, you may be asked to write an AHCJ website blog post, take pictures or shoot video of a conference session.

Students will be asked to share a room with another student fellow.

Fellowship includes:

  • Conference registration fee
  • One year’s membership in AHCJ (new or extended)
  • Up to four nights in conference hotel (Wed.-Sat.)
  • Up to $400 for travel assistance within the continental United States.

    This may not cover ALL travel costs.
