USFSP Student Government Sets Up Food Drive for Hurricane Irma Relief Efforts

(Nov. 3, 2017) – The University of South Florida St Petersburg Student Government is partnering with the St Petersburg Free Clinic on a Food and Hygiene Drive to support Hurricane Irma relief efforts. The Drive will go through November 20 and is accepting donations of canned goods, non-perishable products and travel and hotel-sized hygiene products.

“Due to Hurricane Irma, these supplies continue to be in high demand,” said Michael Hanlon, director of external affairs for USFSP Student Government. “Irma heavenly impacted residents throughout Florida, especially minimum wage earners, with some seeing their source of income delayed for two to four weeks and thus unable to acquire basic necessities.”

There will be three locations around campus where individuals can drop off donations: room 1500 in the Student Life Center, the University Student Center near the front desk, and at the USFSP Poynter Memorial Library.
