USFSP to Host Event About Power of Youth Voters

In a time when the youth vote could potentially sway the November presidential election, USF St. Petersburg will host “Are Youth Voters In Charge? The Future of Politics and Civil Discourse: A Conversation with Alexander Heffner” on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Alexander Heffner, host of “The Open Mind” on PBS, is a journalist and civic educator who has covered American politics and the political engagement of youth voters.  His work has appeared in leading newspapers and magazines, including the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, and The New York Times, and has been featured on nationally broadcast media.

The event will be held in Harbor Hall and is presented by the Open Partnership Education Network (OPEN), the College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, the Bishop Center.
