Bestselling Author Michael Koryta Visits USFSP

USF St. Petersburg hosted a book signing and conversation with New York Times bestselling author Michael Koryta for his new book “Rise the Dark” on Aug. 21. The hard cover book was recently released on Aug. 16.

Koryta, a former private investigator and newspaper reporter, has authored 11 other books, including “The Prophet,” “The Ridge,” “So Cold the River,” and most recently “Last Words.” His books have won or been nominated for many awards, including the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, Edgar Award, Shamus Award, Quill Award, and the International Thriller Writers Award. His books also have been translated into more than 20 languages.

Colette Bancroft, book editor for the Tampa Bay Times, joined Koryta for a discussion about writing, his new book and its inspiration, and his evolution as a bestselling author. Koryta also will be one of the featured authors during 24th annual Tampa Bay Times Festival of Reading at USF St. Petersburg on Saturday, Nov. 12.
