‘Goodbye to All That’ Show at Studio@620 June 9
“Goodbye to All That,” an ethnodrama about the final work year of a teacher who worked in a challenging school in the Chicago School System, will be performed on Thursday, June 9 at 6 p.m.
The show, created by Dr. Charles Vanover, assistant professor of Education Leadership at USF St. Petersburg, was inspired by interviews he had conducted years ago while he was working on his dissertation.
“Every word in the show was either spoken during that interview or is read from a book that the teacher read that year,” Vanover said. “You really get that up-close, personal view of what it’s like to be a very committed teacher in a very challenging school, serving kids that deserve nothing but the best.”
