On April 28, the USFSP Campus Board recognized outgoing USF Trustee and Student Government President Jozef Gherman.

In addition to his role as president, Gherman has served in a number of leadership roles during his four years in the various branches of Student Government: senator, vice chair and chair of appropriations, and chief financial officer. As a university trustee, he participated in the Academic and Campus Environment work group. His term will expire in May.

“This university really gave me the opportunity to grow as a person, and I’ll never forget that,” said Gherman, who hands over the presidential seat to the new president Ziya Kardas, a graduate student in the Kate Tiedemann College of Business.

“Jozef has represented us well and put our name on the map for the USF System and for the state of Florida,” said Tuck Tucker, interim regional associate vice chancellor of Student Affairs. “He has led one of the most productive years ever in student government on USFSP’s campus, and Jozef shows up every time he is asked. He goes above and beyond.”
