Thesis Submission

USF St. Petersburg graduate students are required to submit their approved theses through USF St. Petersburg Office of Graduate Studies in FTF 100 after your committee has approved the intellectual content . USF St. Petersburg students DO NOT submit through the Electronic Thesis and Dissertation (ETD) process, but rather the final manuscript is to be submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies in PDF format via email, flash drive, or CD. For submission,  questions or to make an appointment, contact Donna Knudsen, (727) 873-4450.

Format Requirements And Resources

The submission for the format check is no longer required. However, students are still responsible for meeting all the format requirements as outlined below. Graduate Studies does not specify a specific structure or organization for the main body of the manuscript (such as the content, number of chapters, chapter organization, etc.). However, individual graduate programs may require a specific style (i.e. APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.), set forth by their program throughout the manuscript.

The table below outlines the sections of the manuscript and also the page numbering requirements.

The following links provide information on formatting requirements. These helpful guidelines were developed by the USF Tampa Graduate School who has graciously agreed to allow us to use them.

Each link contains a PDF document that outlines the required formatting, includes examples of each section, provides explanations of how to use and set up the formatting functions in Microsoft Word, and a checklist that can be used to evaluate each section of the manuscript.
