Start Planning NOW for Financial Aid Next Year - USF St. Petersburg Can Help You!

College is Possible. Financial Aid is Available. Applying is Free!

Are you confused about the financial aid process, or do you want to ensure that you meet the priority processing deadlines?  Fortunately, there is one form that you need to complete - the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) – and we can help you!

The FAFSA is the application required to apply for federal and state student grants, work-study, and education loans. The FAFSA takes into account your family’s financial information from the previous calendar year. While the FAFSA may seem lengthy and complex, we are a free resource to help you through the application process, regardless of which university you choose to attend.

What is FAFSA Frenzy?

FAFSA Frenzy is an annual event hosted by the USF St. Petersburg Office of Financial Aid to provide assistance with early Financial Aid processing.   We provide hands-on processing support to current and prospective students and their parents to beat state and USF deadlines. The process only takes about 15-25 minutes to complete, and we encourage you to apply early. The FAFSA will ask questions about your status (married or unmarried), income, and your parents’ income.  The information reported on the form is used to determine the expected family contribution.

It is important to note that the FAFSA must generally be filed between January 1 and May 15 of the year before you begin postsecondary training in Florida in order to be eligible for state need-based aid.

USF’s priority processing deadline to be considered for the maximum amount of aid is March 1, 2012!

While you’re attending our FAFSA Frenzy event, be sure to pick up several scholarship applications from both USF and outside organizations. For a sampling of over 200 scholarships, including the USF St. Petersburg Scholarship Brochure and Application, visit the scholarship page.

What do I need to bring to FAFSA Frenzy?
