Through advocacy, collaborations and diverse partnerships the Division of External Affairs creates opportunities for meaningful and enduring engagement between the University of South Florida St. Petersburg and its communities. The division serves USFSP through resource development and stewardship, strategic communications, community access, and public affairs.

The division’s development and stewardship efforts cultivate philanthropic investments by individuals, corporations, and foundations to help secure resources USFSP needs to fulfill its educational mission. Strategic Communications

The Strategic Communications function of External Affairs encompasses two areas:

• Media Relations
  As the primary liaison to external news media, we promote USF St. Petersburg as a whole, including the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, the College of Business and the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library. We coordinate incoming media requests for faculty experts, USFSP information and other data. We initiate stories that convey the dynamic research, teaching and service that takes place at USFSP.

• Web Services
  Web Services is the starting point and a resource for web development of official USF St. Petersburg university Web pages. Web Services is responsible for leading university-wide Web site development and design projects. This includes strategic development and integration of related technologies, such as multimedia and content management systems, as well as drafting of appropriate best practices.

Community Involvement & Public Affairs

The Division of External Affairs serves as the USFSP liaison to business, community, civic and public partners.

  Town and Gown is a non-profit organization designed to promote understanding and friendship between the University of South Florida St. Petersburg and the community. Read more about Town and Gown

Space Reservations

Representatives from USFSP departments, committees, student groups, etc. may reserve rooms on the first floor of the Williams House (WMS) and/or the adjacent Snell/Williams Courtyard. For more information about reservations for other spaces at the university, please visit Reservation Services.

Official USF St. Petersburg logos are available for download. See the USF St. Petersburg Logo Usage Guidelines for details. The USF St. Petersburg Social Media Guidelines provide specific information about logo use on social media pages. Additional USF design style guidelines are outlined on the USF Brand Web page.

External Affairs can assist with questions about proper logo usage. We also authorize the use of USFSP logos, signing off on display advertisements prior to payment from purchasing.

This PowerPoint template is available for download by faculty, students and staff for presentations at conferences, meetings or other uses as needed.

Photo/Image Releases
Individuals featured in images for university brochures, advertisements and other publications need to sign a photo release.
