Elementary Education: Literacy/Curriculum
The Curriculum and Literacy Program is intended for certified, practicing classroom teachers who have a strong interest in teaching literacy in grades K-6 or developing their content knowledge in elementary education and curriculum theory.
This program provides an in-depth view of reading and writing research, curriculum theories and content information, and the application of theory to classroom teaching.
Program candidates are expected to demonstrate mastery of the following:
- The candidate will enhance their knowledge of curriculum theory and development.
- The candidate will refine and expand skills in reading and applying educational research.
- The candidate will explore how one can provide teacher leadership in curriculum or literacy.
