Software and Licensing

Appropriate licensing is required by law for all software products installed on USFSP computers and servers. Failure to strictly adhere to these requirements can place the university in a seriously vulnerable legal position. The University of South Florida System has negotiated a number of licenses for popular software titles.

The table below provides a list of common academic software products and their respective licensing terms for USFSP (site license), faculty, staff, and students or graduate assistants.

Most of the applications listed above are purchasable from the USF Computer Store. Research applications, such as MATLAB, are available from USF Research Computing.
