In an increasingly technology-dependent work environment, it is important to get configured correctly and quickly in order to prevent future complications. This page, and the rest of the Campus Computing site, is designed to get you off on the right foot.
Note: Before you begin the following steps, you must first complete payroll signup, GEMS registration and receive your employee ID number from the Human Resources Department.
Campus Computing Initial Setup
NetID
Your NetID is a very important piece of information. It is your USF email address and login credentials for Blackboard, wireless network, GEMS, and other important things.
Visit netid.usf.edu to get started.
To activate your USF email account:
- Return to the NetID activation Page: netid.usf.edu and click: Login for more options.
- Log in with your NetID and password and click: Select your Official USF E-mail Address.
- Choose your new USF email from the drop-down (or type it in), typically yourNetID@mail.usf.edu.
- Click: Change Default Email Address

Full time faculty and staff have the option of signing up for @usfsp.edu email estension. Click the document to the right for detailed instructions.
Bayboro Account
A Bayboro Account is what allows you access to office computers, classroom computers, and access share drives.
Note: You will NOT be able to access classroom computers without an active Bayboro Account.
Bayboro Account Setup
- Fill out a Bayboro Account Request Form online.
- Receive conformation email with your username and temporary password.
- Log in to an office or classroom computer.
- Reset your password.
Wireless
If you don’t have a docking station or use a personal laptop for work, connecting to the wireless network at USFSP is obviously important.

Mobile Devices
Getting USF email to your mobile device is pretty common these days. USFSP’s integration with Gmail makes it even easier to connect with your Android phone and iPhones aren’t too hard either.
