What is Convocation?
Convocation is the official university welcome for new students and tradition at USFSP. During this inspiring event, the USFSP Community comes together to kick off our students’ academic journey.
All new students, family members, faculty and staff are welcome to attend; First-Year students are required to attend. During the ceremony, students receive a USFSP memento symbolizing their commitment to graduate in four years Make sure you use #USFSPConvocation to share your experience!
After Convocation: students will process to Harbor Walk for the annual Class Photo, followed by the opportunity to meet with their classmates and their Compass Peer Coaches. Don’t miss out on this exciting campus tradition.
New Student Breakfast
All first-year students are encouraged to attend the New Student Breakfast before Convocation. This event will take place on campus. During the breakfast students will have the opportunity to connect with their peers, meet USFSP community members, and reflect on their goals for the next four years. There is no cost to attend. This event is exclusively for incoming first-year students.
Family & Friends Breakfast
Family members and friends are encouraged to attend the Family & Friends Continental Breakfast Reception before Convocation. This event will take place at Lynn Pippenger Hall. During the breakfast you will have the opportunity to connect with other family members, meet USFSP community members, and celebrate the success of your student. There is no cost to attend.
