USF St. Petersburg Receives $2.2-Million Grant to Bolster Student Safety Through Mental Health Training

Faculty and staff at Florida’s K-12 schools will receive training on how to recognize and assist students with emotional or mental health difficulties thanks to a new $2.2-million grant awarded to USF St. Petersburg’s College of Education.

COE STEM and ROBOTICS GIRL SCOUT BADGES

Dr. David Rosengrant and Girl Scout Leader, Mrs.Tiffany Rosengrant decided to run a STEM Badge-A-Thon for 18 badges released this year. Dr. Rosengrant involved his elementary education students in the Science for All course to participate in the event. On Wednesday, May 2nd, about 15 Girl Scouts in middle and high schools attended badge instruction at the USFSP campus and in turn, on May 6th taught 160+ elementary school-aged Girl Scouts, from Manatee and Sarasota counties, about STEM and robotics badges.  The result was an incredible success for the Girl Scouts and USFSP College of Education students.
