GREETING FROM THE DEAN

It is an honor to serve as the new Dean for the College of Business at University of South Florida St. Petersburg.

During my first visit to the College of Business. I was immediately struck by the collegiality among students, faculty, and the administration.  I quickly felt the family atmosphere of a small school, which along with it comes many benefits including: accessibility, attention, and communicated opportunity.

Business schools are a tremendous asset to the local community.  In my research, I have found approximately 90% of our graduates begin their careers right here in Pinellas County and help local business thrive.  Local businesses may capitalize on a partnership with the business school through the hiring of new talent, improvement of existing talent, the opportunity to stay current on new trends, and to showcase corporate speakers.

We live in an ever changing somewhat molecular society.  It is not always easy to stay current with today’s business trends.  With advanced technology and electronic communications, we have the ability to lead a more efficient, knowledge-based lifestyle.  This newsletter is one of many communication tools used to reach the College of Business constituency.  We hope you will utilize our resources to network and connect with your fellow alum, potential employers, and professional colleagues.

Through our e-newsletter we will communicate relevant opportunities, student, alumni and faculty achievements, and the perspectives of our community leaders. Perhaps, you have an opportunity to share; send it our way, and we will help you communicate your message.
