Jill McCracken, PhD
Biography Dr. Jill McCracken is a researcher, activist, and educator. She received her PhD in Rhetoric, Composition, and the Teaching of English from the University of Arizona in 2007. Her research interests include the rhetoric of marginalized communities, in particular that of sex work/trafficking; public policy; gender studies; reproductive technologies; civic engagement; and communication across the curriculum. She is currently working on an analysis of street sex worker representations and their effects on sex workers and society, which reveals the power of everyday language and its influence on the material conditions of street sex workers’ lives.
