I am a senior currently working towards my Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science and Policy. After pursuing another career for few years, I decided to make a life changing decision and head back to school. My original intent was to pursue a degree in education, but upon completion of an Environmental Issues course, I fell in love with the idea of making a difference in our environment and the future to come. As an environmental science major I am a member of (S.E.A.S.): Student Environmental Awareness Society and (SCEP): Student Chapter of Environmental Professionals.
I believe that my background in education and my enjoyment of helping others led me to my position at the career center. As a returning student I understand the need for higher education in the work place and I hope that my experience in life can prove to help assist other students and alumni to focus on their career goals and the strategies needed to achieve them.

I am a senior and this is my second year at USFSP. I transferred here with an Associate of the Arts degree to major in journalism with a focus on science writing. I chose journalism because it allows me to explore a variety of different subjects, especially science disciplines. I also hope to communicate in such a way that many people who may not have been interested in science will be able to understand and even enjoy it.
My coverage of local science topics for class led me to a great internship at the U.S. Geological Survey right across the street from campus. Through this internship, I was able to publish work in Bay Soundings; write, record and produce WMNF radio broadcasts; as well as written and multimedia content for the Department of the Interior
As a Career Assistant, I am able to share the knowledge gained from these and many other great experiences. My diverse background along with excellent career training has given me a great set of skills to assist my peers with focusing their career goals and strategies.
In addition to being a Career Assistant at the Career Center, I also work at the help desk in Campus Computing. |

I am a junior in the College of Business currently working on a Bachelors Degree in Entrepreneurship with a Minor in International Business.
While enjoying some time off to backpack through Europe and South-East Asia, I met many Americans who lived and had their own businesses in many different countries. Meeting these people changed my life and helped me form the goal of starting my own business abroad. I decided to change my major from Environmental Science and Policy to Entrepreneurship after learning about this new Major during my sophomore year.
I have worked and lived on campus as the Lead Resident Assistant at our Residence Hall, I believe that the experience working closely with students who are new to college has led me to my path as a career assistant because now I can use that experience working closely with students entering college in addition to more advanced students as they prepare to leave college and enter the working world |

I am currently a junior majoring in Business Management. My initial dream was to pursue a Bachelor's in Fashion and Retail Management but that changed when I became a mother. By making my major more general, I believe that I am allowing myself to find employment in industries other than fashion. My ultimate goal is to find employment in an industry that I enjoy and still pays well enough to support my daughter.
My involvement on campus includes being the style coordinator for No-Bull Dance Troupe and will soon be writing fashion articles and blog posts for HerCampus at USFSP. I am also working on my own freelance personal styling and wardrobe analysis company.
My desire to help others doesn't just fit into my future business goals, but it is the main reason why I wanted to become a Career Assistant. Many of my friends come to me for advice, and I feel that if I can help my friends when they need me the most, then why not help my fellow classmates too?
As a Career Assistant, I hope that by assisting USFSP students with the career exploration process, I will help them find a career that isn't just for them, but a career that is them.
