Our students have demonstrated overt and proactive leadership in sustainability by voting to finance a Student Green Energy Fund by self-assessing a nominal student fee of $1.00 per credit hour. The fund assists the university in reducing energy cost through conservation, promoting power generation using clean, renewable energy technologies, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
Dr. Thomas Hallock, Associate Professor of English was selected as the Daniel F. Breeden Eminent Scholar Chair for fall 2013 in the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University.
Erika Greenberg-Schneider, Visiting Instructor of Graphic Design, was decorated with the honor of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French minister of culture.
Dr. J. Michael Francis, Professor of History, holds our Hough Family Chair of Florida Studies. In 2007, Dr. Francis was granted a four-year appointment as Research Fellow at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, and in 2010-2011, Dr. Francis was named the Jay I. Kislak Fellow at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.
Daniel James Scott, associate director of the USF St. Petersburg Entrepreneurship Program in our College of Business, has been named the Florida 2013 Small Business Advocate of the Year.
