City Improvements Continue on 6th Avenue

Bike Lane to Be Widened, Landscaped Medians Added

The City of St. Petersburg continues its work to improve 6th Avenue South. The curb on the south side of the street is being removed in preparation for a widened bike trail that will run along 6th Avenue South between 1st Street South and 3rd Street South. This project will include the permanent removal of City parking meters on both sides of 6th. Additionally, landscaped islands will be placed in the center of the street, which will remain open to two-way traffic during construction.The project is expected to be completed in late July or early August.
