Forum Explores Role of Pharmacies in Community Healthcare

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (May 2, 2011) – The next Walgreens Bayside Business Forum on May 11 will feature Walgreens’ Market Director of Pharmacy Operations, Terry Gubbins. Gubbins will discuss trends affecting pharmacies: an aging and well-educated baby boomer population; shrinking reimbursement rates for medical services; and the pharmacy industry’s shift in emphasis from products to services.

“We’re looking forward to having Mr. Gubbins discuss this important business and health care trend that affects consumers,” said Maling Ebrahimpour, dean of the College of Business. “As a large drugstore chain, Walgreens plays a role in how Americans manage their health and wellness.”

The Walgreens Bayside Business Forum is presented by the Dean’s Advisory Council of the College of Business at USFSP. The series focuses on interdisciplinary collaborations that are shaping Florida’s business future.
