All Faculty, Administration and Staff employees enjoy nine paid holidays as listed below along with two additional floating holidays designated by the President of the University. The University is closed on these holidays. Hourly OPS are not eligible to be paid for holidays.

Paid Holidays:

New Year's Day (Monday, 1/02/12)
Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday (Monday, 1/16/12)
Memorial Day (Monday, 5/28/12)
Independence Day (Wednesday, 7/4/12)
Labor Day (Monday, 9/3/12)
Veterans' Day (Monday, 11/12/12)
Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, 11/22/12)
Day After Thanksgiving (Friday, 11/23/12)
Christmas Day (Tuesday, 12/25/12)

Floating Holidays for 2012:

Christmas Eve – Monday, 12/24/12
New Year’s Eve – Monday, 12/31/12

Professional, Salaried Temporary, Salaried Graduate Assistants/Associates covered by the collective bargaining agreement, and adjuncts working their regularly required work schedule are paid for holidays.

Staff Personal Holiday

Regular full-time and part-time Staff employees are entitled to one personal holiday each fiscal year. For the purpose of determining eligibility for a personal holiday, a regular employee is one who has completed a probationary period without a break-in-service. A personal holiday is credited to eligible employees on July 1, or on the date the employee completes his/her probationary period in any Staff class. A personal holiday must be requested in the same manner as other types of leave and must be taken by the employee on or before the close of business on June 30 or it is forfeited.
