STUDENT LIFE CENTER
The USFSP Student Life Center undergoes renovations this summer to improve access to the building and enhance student engagement with an entrance designed to “spark the interest of students who are walking by.”
Key changes to the facility include enclosure of the front patio to create a more inviting main entrance; relocation of the fitness center entrance to the main entrance; creation of additional student lounge space; and expansion of the Multicultural Center.
HARBOR HALL RENOVATION
Home to the Department of Verbal and Visual Arts with programs in English and Graphic Design, the renovations to Harbor Hall’s first floor will result in five new state-of-the-art teaching classrooms and an 85 seat lecture auditorium. Conversations are also underway to expand the current Print Studio permitting a near doubling of student occupancy. Students will greatly benefit by being able to take all of their required courses in Harbor Hall and where faculty offices are located. A further benefit of this remodel is that Graphic Design will be poised to submit for national accreditation consideration.
In a new collaboration with the Tampa Bay Rowdies, USFSP has agreed to provide limited field access to the team. In exchange, the Rowdies will improve and maintain the field to professional standards – and our intramural teams will enjoy a renovated space, complete with new turf, fencing and lighting. This latest collaboration with the Rowdies underscores our commitment to student success, building the University’s infrastructure and engaging in strategic partnerships that serve both our students and the community.
