Construction & Renovation UpdatesSeveral exciting construction and renovation projects will add residential, academic, dining and office facilities to USF St. Petersburg in 2011 and 2012. University Student CenterGroundbreaking: April 11, 2011 The 81,000 square-foot University Student Center will have a ballroom, dining facilities, meeting rooms, outdoor verandas and a six-story residence hall. The residence hall will accommodate nearly 200 residents in two-person bedrooms. The ballroom and meeting spaces will be available for public rental and conferences. Architect: Rowe Architects Inc. "The new construction will add immeasurably to our students' on-campus experience. The faculty are excited about the possibilities and I share their excitement."
- Regional Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs ![]() Campus Activities CenterRenovation begins: February 2012 The Campus Activities Center will become the student services building - a "one stop shop" for many student life activities including the Bishop Center for Ethical Leadership/Center for Civic Engagement/Leadership Program, Student Government, Multicultural Affairs, Disabilities Services, and the Counseling, Health, and a Wellness Center that will include a health clinic. The current fitness center will remain and stay in operation throughout the renovation. The renovated center will have a central atrium and a second floor added to what is currently the CAC Core. Architect: Harvard Jolly "Harbor Hall continues the legacy of its prior tenant, creating new ideas, words, and images for the digital age."
- Martha, BA (English '93), MA (English Ed. '09) ![]() Harbor HallRenovation complete Harbor Hall serves as the center for creative activity at USFSP. The renovated structure, affectionately known as the "old DalĂ," houses the Department of Verbal and Visual Arts, a merging of USFSP's programs in graphic design, professional and technical writing, and literature. Harbor Hall supports a creative communications studio, printing and design studios, student and community gathering spaces, and faculty offices. Harbor Hall is fully functional with the new Verbal & Visual Arts department. A professional writing studio complete with new technology and a graphic design print shop are now open. December 16, 2011
Harborwalk extension is complete. The extension, south of MSC construction, faces the pond and includes benches for public enjoyment. November 9, 2011
